The thing about being fair is it sometimes involves making concessions. You may be hungrier, but you split whatever you have equally with your sibling, because, well, it’s fair ! (or did you ?)

And yet what we reward mostly is winning, success. So are we surprised when the people whose single-mindness on winning we admired decide even the rules of society are theirs to try to win against ?
